Real time traffic application @ Iraklio city in Crete, Greece

The new real-time mobile application for the traffic congestion in the streets of Iraklio, Crete, is now available to the public. The application was developed in the frame of the project RERUM, which is being implemented by the municipality of Iraklio in cooperation with the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), foreign Universities and companies. The project’s objective is to create a platform for the secure development of Internet of Things (IoT) applications, protecting the privacy and personal data of the citizens.

The pilot testing of the application was finalized and now it is available to the public. All of the citizens can download the mobile application and contribute to the data collection used in the real-time traffic analysis. The citizens are also welcome to contribute by dedicating a few minutes in answering an anonymous questionnaire.
