ALSTOM testing next generation of ETCS

European Train Control System is a signalling, control and train protection system designed to replace the many incompatible safety systems currently used by European railways.

 

 

On September 2016 ALSTOM with Danish rail infrastructure manager tested an ETCS level 2 baseline 3 application. According to Pascal Clere this system will allow Danish network to broaden its capacity.

 

ALSTOM contract includes replace of the existing signalling system in East region of Denmark. More over ETCS will be implemented on 12 intercity and regional lines which cover half the country.

 

Contract includes and 25 years of maintenance.
