Four grant agreements of total budget of 725,7 million euros were signed by the  Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism and the European Commission through the competent service «Innovation and Networks Executive Agency» (INEA). Under the mechanism «Connecting Europe Facility» four high European added value projects will be funded. The projects are related to major infrastructures and studies for the upgrading of the railway network in Greece.

Here are the relevant projects:

  • Completion of the new double, electrified railway line high speed Tithorea - Lianokladi - Domokos, 106 km, budget of 430.3 mil. euros.

  • Construction of the railway infrastructure in the part Rhododendron - Psathopyrgos of the new railway line Athens - Patras, budget 290.6 mil. euros.

  • Studies to upgrade the infrastructure in parts of the railway line Thessaloniki – Bastion, budget of 1.0 mil. euros.

  • New single railway line between Thessaloniki - Amphipolis - New Karvali, budget of 3.8 mil. euros.
